WHAT WE BELIEVE

(at least)

  • That something is off/missing/broken within each and every person, and that a loving God and His philosophy of love is the key.

Maybe you’ve heard the term “sin”. It means “mistake…misstep…a miss”. And we believe not living like God is a mistake, misstep, & miss, but He can help us correct our path.

(Romans 3:23, “…for all have sinned and fall short...”)

  • Nazarene: a Christian denomination started over a century ago solely focused on bringing the way (teachings) of Jesus to all: no exceptions.

(John 1:46, “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?”)

    (Matthew 28:19, “…go and make disciples…”)

  • Loving Well. End of Story.

Jesus said EVERYTHING goes right by loving God & loving others. So, we strive to make EVERYTHING about just that. What more needs to be said?

    (Acts 2:38, “…repent and be baptized…”)

    (Romans 10:9-10, “…confess…believe…”)

    (Hebrews 11:1, “…faith is assurance…conviction…”)

  • Honest, open, and fun; truth and grace. We’re all trying to “find the way”, and life’s hard enough, so we try to be kind, direct, and not take ourselves too seriously.

(Matthew 5:37, “let you ‘yes’ be ‘yes’ and your ‘no’ be ‘no’”)

(1 Peter 2:9, “…put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy…”)

  • Are you kidding? Of course you can! A lot of us first arrived, if not “believing”, then at least “full of doubts”. There are no prerequisites in the search for God, and we try to make it easy for you.

(Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”)

(Acts 15:19, “…we should not make it difficult for the outsiders coming to Jesus”)

  • Our doors are open at 10:15a every Sunday. Get a cup of free coffee and hangout until our service starts at 11:00a.

We’ll share what’s going on in the church, sing some songs, and take part in a message to help us grow and make us think. Simple as that.

(Acts 2:42-44, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common”)

  • Expressive, contemplative, and redirecting (and a bit passionately loud). We want to sing anything that helps us or challenges us to “love well”.

(1 Chronicles 16:23, “Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day”)

(Psalm 100:1-2, “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness…”)

  • You drop those kids right on off to our background-checked, fun-loving Grace Kids volunteers who will get them either safely playing in our baby and toddler rooms or jumping in a ball pit before songs, games, and a lesson for elementary kids.

In other words, they’re safe, having fun, and you’re kid-free for an hour (congratulations).

(Matthew. 19:14, “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these’”)

(Psalm 127:3, “Children are a heritage from the Lord…a reward from him”)

(Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it”)

  • Through “just people”, like you. No corporate sponsors or political parties.

We have faithful attendees who give because A) they believe in the mission & vision and B) want to evidently trust God with their finances. So, they give regularly, and everything we do is funded by them.

(2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”)

  • Our pastor (Nate), our worship leader (Ashley), and our great custodial team are our only paid team members. Everyone else believes in the mission and vision, weekly volunteering their time and talents!

(Jeremiah 3:15, “Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding”)

  • Whatever you’d like! I mean, keep in mind there are families & kids attending, but wear what you’re comfortable in. We just want you here.

(1 Peter 3:3-4, “ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment…rather, it should be that of your inner self…”)

  • All sorts: you would be surprised. Some have attended for a long time. Others are fairly new. Almost all are looking for, and practicing, a more loving way to live: sick of bitterness, divides, and anger, we spend almost all our time discussing & trying out the teachings of Jesus.

(Matthew 11:28-29, “ “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my way upon you and learn from me…”)

(Acts 15:19, “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for those turning to God”)
